Road diversions from May 2021

There is going to be significant disruption to people travelling around the parish over the coming months as two sets of essential repairs and maintenance take place on our narrow roads and require lengthy diversions.

Signs are already up around the parish  in advance of 4 May when a 26 week programme of improvement works by Wessex Water starts. Described by them  as “Fosse Way – Salutation Inn to Nettleton Junction, ”  this is rolling out in four phases. Households in the area should have already received a letter with full information and a map, but if you have any queries contact their customer services team on 0345 6004600 or visit the website: ww.wessexwater.co.uk

The yellow sign may cause confusion in West Kington, given works are anticipated to start in Wood Lane shorty on the stretch coming down the hill into the village from Nettleton. But this sign is in relation to the water improvements. Wiltshire Council have now confirmed that work to repair the damaged retaining wall and install a kerb will start on 14 June and last until 9 July, weather dependent. If you have any queries please contact Chris Pearce on 07423 594457, works reference TTRO 7250.
